The El Dorado Gold mine offers visitors a ride on the narrow-gauge Tanana Valley Railroad into Interior Alaska’s original gold fields, complete with an historical narrative about early Alaska. Once at the mine, visitors view demonstrations and historical interpretation of gold mining history, and actually may pan for gold.
Mid-May to mid-Sep: Two-hour tours depart at 9:45 a.m. and 3 p.m., daily. There are no morning tours on Sat.
